I have been an audio engineer for almost 35 years. I have extensive experience in all aspects of audio including FOH Mixing, Monitor Mixing, System Engineering, and Recording.
I started out in the mid 80’s by assembling a small practice system for my band. By the end of the 80’s I became the sound engineer for a rock club that had live music.
After that I started touring with a few tribute acts. I hit 49 states with one of them. This was from Chilkoot Charlie’s in Anchorage Alaska.
Then I got a call to mix FOH for a national recording act. Finally a bus tour and a Soundcraft Series Four. Very cool!!
I did the touring thing for a few years but needed a steadier gig. I started working for a large regional production company in 1996 where I did about 300 shows per year.
Then digital hit. That was fun. “Here is a PM5D. Go do a festival”. I did a lot of reading that day but I got the job done and ended up loving digital.
After years of that, I decided to mix without all the heavy lifting.
